I have the oil pan bolts off and the motor mount bolts out.... but cannot seem to get the oil pan to drop. I have jacked up the motor to get the tilt but it doesnt seem to help any. What all has
to be pulled to get the oil pan off? Shouldnt I just be able to pull it out with the motor being tilted?

Should be able to. It's asqueeze, but jack the motor up by the crank pully until it hits the cowl, and youll have enough room.

i have never done it, but i have heard its not too bad with an A4.. but it is much more difficult with an M6. try searching.. i was reading a post the other day about this topic..

I tried doing a search on it and it only pulled up one thing. Didn't really tell how it was done though. Any other ways to do it? Thanks for the info. Spinner! So the flywheel can stay and the torgue converter?

Some cars you can just unbolt the motor mounts raise the engine and unbolt the pan (after you remove the level sensor)

On my car it was a bit too tight to get it out, so I loosened the K members bolts and let the K member down with the bolts out about 2 inches or so. I didnt even have to remove the headers.

Well maybe that answered my question. I maybe did not have the motor jacked up far enough. I will try that when i get home today. So the motor has to be jacked up as high as you can get it to go?

Yes, and if it is still too tight to get out, lower the K by loosening the 6 bolts (take out the rear two) til it comes.

One more quick question, is it possible that the oil pan will get dented up a little when trying to get it out? Maybe if I have to use a little force

Shouldnt have to, the trick is to move it forward and down then back to clear the pick-up of the oilpump.

WS, when you say move it forward and back, is ur forward towards the front of the car or bakc of the car from under it? lol, i have to know cause i am fixing to do it at home.

Move it towards the front of the car and drop the back then pull it out.
