Cannot get drivers side motor mount bolts to line up, any suggestions?
the passenger side motor mount is completely together, the drivers side I have the lower mount bolted to the K member and the through bolt in but I can't get the upper mount to block bolts in.
the motor sits back about an 1/8 inch too far on the drivers side. I've never had this problem before.
I've tried to loosen up all the bolts on the tranny mount and push the tranny to the side, but I still can't get enough
I've also tried unbolting the through bolts and jacking the motor up, but there isn't enough room for the motor mounts to completely clear each other, so I can't bolt the upper mount in and then put in the through bolt.
does anyone have any sugestions at all?

try and get a bar somewhere on the motor where it won't hurt it, like an exhaust manifold if you still have the stock ones and have them pry it while you slip the bolt through. Or try jacking the motor from different places and see what it does, something has to be off.

make sure that every other bolt on both the driver and passenger side is in place and started but not tight. That should give you the wiggle room you need to get the block bolts started.

it is possible to bolt the motor mounts on and your motor will be sitting in there at an angle....it happened to me untill i noticed it.

like has been said, make sure to loosen the passenger side so you have room to move the motor, take a large pry bar and carefully wedge it between the k-member and block and push it where you need it. also jack the motor in different spots to angle it.
putting poly mounts in my car took me two days to do. i feel your frustrations. just be patient and get some friends to help you. good luck!

It took me somewhere between 6-8 hours to do the job by myself. I had read somewhere that it was cake to do. I learned otherwise. Having said that, I will add that I am very happy with the results and it was well worth all the trouble.
