Can't decide between 224/230 and 230/236...
I am having Lloyd Elliot port and polish my heads very soon. The valves will stay the stock 1.94/1.50 and they wil be milled some and used with Impy SS head gaskets. Also I will not be revving past 6300rpms. Which cam package is right for me? Mods in sig. I need the vehicle maybe twice a week and 3 times a year at the track. I know the 224/230 will have more torque on the bottom end but the 230/236 will make more power up top. Both will be 112LSA. The question is how much more.....and which one will run quicker in the 1/4?
HELP!!!!

I'm no cam expert, but i'd think the 224/230 or even the 218/224. I selected the 218/224 based on a 6200 shift point. Your ported heads should move the peak up even a lil more which would be right inline with your 6300 shift.

I have the 230/236. It pulls nicely across the board, but when it gets into the upper RPM range, it is crazy. It feels like stock down low, but it just keeps building as you go. I would like to see what a 224/230 feels like.

224/230 here too (A4 though). The cam is great on a daily driver. If I had an M6 though, I'm pretty sure I'd have gone the 230/236 route.
Something else to consider - Combo and Nu-Tek both have some interesting grinds to check out. They're in the same neighborhood as far as duration but some have some serious lift.

I like my 230/236, can't go wrong with bigger, llafro is absolutly right, feels stock down low, (with a good tune of course) and pulls very hard up top.
It has waaay more potential with ported heads but will still run great with stock ones.
I need heads.

you see what i have
if id do it again id go on a 110 instead of 112
with the 2.02 1.64 valves 1.6 rockers NO port or polish (it was christmas and i need my ride) and stock manifolds car pulles hard as a mug actuallt cracked my windsheild when i shifted
i also went to do a dukes of hazzard u-turn car went straight until i let off the gas although i do have the 2500 stall but good low end a little surge at about 1900 rpm the hp falls off about 5700 rpm think hedders will help that
got around 15 mph in 1/4
good dependable streetable and still decent fuel milage

why do you wanna keep the revs so low? I would do a 230/236 on a 110ls.
but, if you want a little tamer.. go 112ls, but I would get the bigger cam. probably shift around 6500

Of course like others have said this is with a good tune.
I haven't made it to the dyno or drag strip to see what it puts down yet, but on the road course it is working great.
