can't get ahold of Delteq
#66
Delteq friends, I'm back from my little trip to northern WI with no failures! It was in the 70's going up heavy traffic getting out of Chicago and also through Milwakee, smooth as silk; same way on the return trip but colder outside. I'm going to consider it mission accomplished! If you're keeping up, I put a new Delteq opti-box and a new ignition module from Advance Auto. It was a couple weeks of frustration, but all's well that ends well. My advice to Delteq owners, move the opti-box away from the head, not with just spacers, but way away. You have to make the one harness longer, but worth the effort, peace of mind if nothing else. Tools needed; wire cutters, wire strippers, crimper, heat gun. Parts needed; 8 crimp lugs, 4 colors tape, 4ft wire, heat shrink, heat shield.
Anybody want to buy a good running B-body?
Thanks, Douglas

This is what went bad on my delteq setup. The plastic is very low quality and warps easily as you can see, which in turn will damage all the electronics inside. So basically now I have a coil setup and a bunch of useless wires.
If they were at least reachable and would offer a solution, I wouldn't be so upset.
So buyers beware, delteq service is nonexistent, and quite frankly their product isn't nearly worth the hype/$$

Some good tech-info in this thread, I personally have never had a problem with my Delteq setup (crossed fingers ). Mine has worked beautifully since day one. Hope J.C. get things turned around, he was always helpful when I called a few times on my setup.

Hey folks, I had a Delteq in a previous life/vehicle, and would do it again even if the company isn't around or offering help anymore, if it's cheaper than an opti that you know is junk from the day you put it on. JMHO though, to each his own, especially as much as *all* options cost for LT1 ignition.
Anyway, same/same here, I have been trying to get ahold of JC for a couple of weeks, no reply to email (although it does not bounce) and vmail says 'box is full' so can't even leave a message.
In any case, if anyone still has one around they want to junk, I'd like to piece one together. The coils and ICM seem cheap enough and I have to do something, my opti stopped sparking.
Oh and hey what's up with the sterile gloves in the picture??? That delteq box a biohazard or something???
