Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

I'd be interested if they will clear a set of stud girdles.

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

Well I finally got everything back together today and started it up for the first time and to my dismay I hear a loud knocking from my passenger side valve cover. I'm pretty sure it's one of the rockers contacting the cover but I'm not sure which one. I guess I'll have to wrestle that bastard off and see if there's any marks. Even if I can see where it's hitting I'm not sure what I can do about it. The walls of the covers are not that thick.

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

On the motor we just used them on, we had to clearance the area that is stepped in for the alternator. It was just clipping the c-clip of the front most rocker arm.

I'd like to know this as well. You definitely can't see the plug wires in the pictures.

Same on mine. Canton adjusted the stepped area for me which worked - it now clears the rocker arm. But now it hits the alternator. Doh! Going to try making a bracket to rotate the alternator up about an inch. We'll see how it goes.

Note that this is with the Pro Mag rockers which are a fairly wide body.

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

How much clearancing is needed with the valve covers and the CC Pro Magnums? A set of $200 valve covers should not need any tweeking!

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

Could you just grind a little off the alternator or is it a lot off?

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

Very minimal clearancing on the step corner of the step. It was barely touching the c-clip on the the front rocker.

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

We had no issues with the alternator fitting.
