Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

Any chance to test them with girdles?

Did you have these on an egine you could start or was it on a stand? If it was on an engine you could start was the knocking very loud? To me it sounds like mine needs more than just a little clearancing. Any pictures of where you had to grind?

Thanks.

A good way to take care of the alternator issues. I would like to see a GP on these covers as well since my stockers are a little warped and all mared up from trying to get my pro mags to clear those supports.

That's not where mine hit. Mine hits on the circular protrusion where the shaft is held.

Mine hits where the shaft is housed as well.

Well that sucks. How many issues can there be with these damn things? Nothing is easy on these cars... Not even something "simple" like replacing valve covers. haha. Sorry I wasnt any help. Im usually not.

Where are these VC's on the Thunder Racing's website because all I see is the metco valve cover breather.

They aren't on the site. I called them and they were able to order them.

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

The tapping was very faint. We actually didn't hear it on the stand and could barely hear it on the engine. I don't have any pictures of what to grind or how much. It was very little grinding, and was all fixed up in a matter of minutes.

Here's a few pictures of the alternator interference and how I moved the alternator.

Re: Canton Fabbed Valve Cover Install ?'s

So it looks like you rotated the alternator up counter clockwise 1 inch? Did you have enough slack in the tensioner and belt for that to work?

We need pics of those valve covers with OTVC looms!
