Car died won't start, backfires
I recently installed my motor and drove it to break it in. It ran fine for 10 minutes and then started to miss and I think was throwing a cylinder misfire code (check engine light was flashing). The the check engine light went solid and it felt like it was running fine. About another 20 minutes of driving and it sputtered and died. I have fuel pressure and when I try to start it I get an occasional backfire but it won't start. I am breaking the motor in and the supercharger is not currently on the vehicle. I am using the stock injectors for break in. The PCM appears to be fine, I flashed my old tune to it with LT1_edit and it seemed to function correctly. Of course doing this cleared whatever codes it had stored. Dumb move on my part. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? The opti isn't that old and I bypassed the MSD box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check that your getting spark? When my car died it was the coil. Car was running fine, then nothing!
If you just put it together I would start by checking for maybe a pinched or burnt wire. I'd look at the ignition module/coil.

The ignition module you are referring to is the little device on the plate where the coil mounts too, correct? If so does anyone know if these are available at most part stores or do I have to hit a chevy dealer?

Last year I ran out to start the car to let it warm up, came back out it was stalled, tried to start it and got the backfire here and there, still had what I thought was good spark. ended up being my OPTI SPARK.... Good Luck....
I threw I think a p1370
Get that code scanned and let us know what it is.... My guess is the OPTI....

Yeah there are no codes now because I flashed the computer since it started happening. Of course since it won't start now it won't throw another one. The opti has less then 5000 miles on it so I hope it isn't that. I have an MSD coil on it and I was gonna throw my old stock coil on it to test it.
