Question car dying while driving......

so here is how it goes, this isnt the first time but this last time was the worst. I was driving down the road and the engine just died. the last 2 times it happend, i got off the gas and it came right back up, but this time i had to pull over. tried to start it and it came up, reved high, then died again. same thing with the next to turn overs. then it kicked back on. Has anyone else here had a problem with that? im starting to think that the injectors are getting clogged but i want to make sure and see what you guys thought (the first time i was thinking it was a bad batch of gas.) but the next times cant be explained. Help me out please.

That could be quite a lot of things...either electrical or fuel related. First thing is to check the fuel pressure...might just be fuel filter. Even if 1 injector went bad..should kill the whole engine.

So check fuel lines first to make sure you're getting fuel. Then you can check the electrical. The last time my car died on the road..it was the coil...but when that's gone...car's out. Doesn't re-start like you say you're did.

So check fuel pressure first..not sure what the psi should be..but do a search on this board..plenty of threads about fuel related problems.

thanks man, but i have another question. if it was a fuel issue, wouldnt it be more often than anything else. Like yesterday when it did it, it happend in the first 10 mins and when i finished the drive and came back home (30 mins each way) it didnt do it again till today. Like i said, today was the worst that it did it so im thinking of dropping in fuel injector cleaner and then if i still have the issue ill check the fuel pressure. that sound like a good idea?

did you put gas in it between the two times it happened? Some times if the fuel pump is going bad a FULL tank will keep it cool enought to not have any problems. IF its the pump!!!!

I just went through a similar problem myself, it turned out to be my ICM (ignition control module). Search for threads created by me to see it.
