car having trouble starting??
i have been having this problem for some time now and no repair shop can seem to figure it out. they just want me to get my computer reprogramed they think that will fix it. but i dont want to wast my money just yet so i figured i would find out what you guys thought about it.
ok this is how it goes, i turn the key, it cranks for anywhere from 3 to 15 seconds until it finally starts. once it starts it runs perfect. the only code it has thrown is p1441 which is some EGR code or something like that.
if you guys have any ideas let me know, its getting really aggravating. i was also wondering if it could be bad o2 sensors.
let me know

Long cranking time is usually fuel related. A common cause is a bad check ball in the fuel pump allowing fuel to run back toward the tank. Another is leaky injector(s) puddling fuel in the intake. Excessive cranking is necessary to burn off the excess.
Put a fuel pressure gage on the fuel rail and see what the fuel pressure is when the engine is shut down. It should hold high pressure for quite a while.
2 other tests will give you an indication of what is going on as well. If the problem is cranking due to puddling, flooring the throttle all the way when you crank it may cause it to start quicker. This puts the engine in flood mode and it will not fire the injectors right away.
Another is to turn the key to the on position for 2 seconds and then the off. Repeat this for 3 or 4 cycles and then start the car as normal. If this starts the engine quicker, that could be an indication the fuel rails have a drain back problem probably due to a bad check ball in the fuel pump.

P1441 is an EVAP code usualy related to the Purge selinoid.
are you sure that you were not throwing any other codes? A bad opti can cause a long crank if you lose the high res signal. It will stiff run from the Low refference but will take longer to start and can suffer alittle bit of performance.
Other then that like sugested I would start with fuel pressure
