What do you mean by this? Is this referring to the size of the rings, so that they can allow for expansion of the rings under higher temps?

So I was looking up the pistons, is it recommended to run inverted dome to lower the compression ratio to accomodate high boost or flat top? If i went with inverted dome and did not have a SC on it, how would the engine run at around 8:6:1 compression based of what this calculator is telling me.

thanks,

When you break in a boosted engine. You need to break in/set the rings under boost pressure. Since it is a different environment from a NA build and the break in process if different. To get proper seal.

The piston will be inverted. The engine will run off of boost. Just don't expect any earth shaking power from it. I personally recommend build it as a boosted engine. Running boost from the beginning.

If not get a 12cc dish piston with 54cc heads. And just go aftermarket heads later with a larger chamber. When you go boost.

But my personal opinion and advice is save little longer and go with a SC/turbo from the beginning.

Edit: you don't need that low of a compression. I will be running a F1 at 18-20 pounds on a 9:1 setup.
