CC 503 224/230 OBDll misfire?

so i recently installed the 224/230 cam

about a week or so later i started getting a random misfire code

the cam is still untuned

would this be the infamous OBDll misfire with a cam , this cam is not really that extreme so im wondering if this could be it

the car goes through the rpms with no problems, its actually pretty smooth ,

it sometime has an off idle studder especially when cold but goes away and timing marks were set correctly even on t he opti/dowel,prolly untuned cam?

rockers are set but will be checked again

i did a search and madwolf has mention a more radical than stock cam can set of misfire codes especially on OBDll cars

im looking for some more updated info and reassureance

thanks guys, hopefully buy the end of the day i can get u the exact codes

thanks
bobbyd

I have that cam in my 383, and ran it (untuned) OBDII for a few months before getting the tuned OBDI conversion and larger injectors.

While I ran OBDII, not once did I experience a missfire code that wasn't due to a burnt plug wire.

I got the same thing from the hotcam. No worries. Get it tuned.

i ordered a madz tune a few days ago

the only thing i can think of is that its the idle b/c of the auto

autos wil idle lower than manuals , around 650 for autos and closer to 800+ for manuals so the idle difference causes the cam to lope and make the computer think theres a misfire

thanks for teh help guys , hopefully the tune works great
