cc306 in 3000 pound car.
I have been reading alot posts about the cc306 cam. Some people
like when the rest the bolt-on's they have are just right. Some people
don't like it with their combination of parts.
Anyway, I am going to install my LT1 A4 into a 89 RX7. The car
should weigh about 3000 lbs with the driver. The gears are 4.10
I have headers, and CAI, so far. I plan on only installing bolt-on's for it only. The car will be nice weather driver, and an occasional trip to the strip. I don't plan on doing anywork to the heads other a valve job, mill, roller rockers, etc.
My question is this, with my combination of the car weight and gears, will
this car be fairly streetable with this setup. I assume that I probably
should get a new stall converter, and a tune of course.
I am a leaving anything out? I really want this to be budget build.
Thanks
Mike

If you are looking for street manner's, I'd go with a crane 227, Hotcam, LPE (baby cams). Might look into getting some longtubes, or atleast some midlength's as well. You can make plenty power with those cams btw and still have normal drivability.

I guess I should rephrase this. This car will be a hot rod. I am not going to daily drive it.
I have long tubes for it also, and no cat's. However, I would like to drive 200 miles on the freeway with no issues.
Thanks
Mike
