CC306 Camshaft ???? for you guys.
Hey guys, I was talking to a bunch of f-body guys about a cam swap for my 94 M6. They reccomended the CC306 cam to me. My motor is completely stock, with 90K on the odometer. I am going to use the stock heads, will I have to do anything with the rockers? or will my stock ones work? I also talked to Bryan at PCMforless.com and he said he could do the computer for me, and it would all work fine. Can you guys help me?

you are going to need new springs comp 986 or 987 work best and are reasonably priced, Getting your computer done, is good but is not manditory, i never did mine and it runs nicely, I would also recommend getting a new set of rockers I put 1.6 rollers in mine and like I said before it runs beautifully, For maximum power have your heads and intake P&P'ed, other than that a nice set of long tubes and duals will help down the road too. Have fun with it

I'm using stock rockers. It looks like you're on a budget??? If so modding gets expensive FAST!! If you wanna save a little $$ go with Ion @ www.madz28.com to tune the computer. He did mine and it runs GREAT, he's a little cheaper to if I'm not mistaking. Sorry Bryan not trying to run away bussiness.......just trying to help the guy out.

I would say that if you go with the CC306 you definitely want to do at least new springs and lifters. But I would say do the rockers while you are at it too. If you are doing the work yourself you can get all of the stuff you need for like 800 bucks. Just to give you an idea, I am running the 224/230 cam which is slightly smaller than the 306 and I did everything but the lifters the first time. When I took it to the track, on my second run I collapsed at least two of the lifters since I was using the stock ones. So once I got the car home I ordered the Comp R's.
I also think you should go with a tune, that is pretty important and will probably get you close to an extra 20hp at the wheels or so....
