all of those appear to be decent cams from various feedback. I like the GM847 thus far.

niterider i noticed your running the 230/236 cam on stock heads, how did it effect your gas mileage, and would the stock lifters and pushrods hold up?

I chose the 306 because of the extra exhaust lift and duation, our engines benefit from it. It's one of the main reasons I don't care for the hotcam, actually.

Obviously mileage got a little worse, but nothing that would make me complain, I am running 94-octane gas of course. As for lifters I’d say with a cam that has such a aggressive lobe pattern I’d change the lifters, pushrods I bought new stock hardened ones just because everything else in the valvtrain was being changed. This winter those stock heads are coming off.

stock heads and stock bottom end, there is no reason to run anything above 91. even less so with a bigger cam. some places only have 92 and 93 available so you dont have a choice-

but i've never heard of anywhere only offering 94.

MI does. I miss it

I believe the owners manual actually says 92 is the recomended. All that is in AZ is 91 at the pump though. unless you want 100 or 106 :P

I think the 306 is a little too much cam for the stock bottom end, so the XE230 got my vote. I was originally going to go with the XE230 but with a 111 lobe. The order got messed up so I got the 306 from Thunder Racing.

Neither of those cams would be a sleeper, even a 114 you can tell its cammed. If you want a sleeper, 116 or 117 lobe seperation would idle like stock.

Also, you won't be able to pull 1.3-1.5 60's. Maybe a 1.59 if your really lucky.

But a 11 second car is possible with an auto. With stock heads and a cam I ran 12.2's spinning slightly to 1.65-1.68 60's. With ported stock heads, you'll hit high 11's no problem.

Tell JC and MikeV6 that... they pull .5xx R/Ts and low 1.x 60's... I'll see if I can't find a vid of Mike chopping the tree.

I don't see 1.3s-1.5s being a problem on slicks with a stall converter and 3.73s pulling the kinda torque I want.

XE 230/236 is just about the same as the CC 306 but it has a little less on the exhaust side...and it's a bit more streetable...

I have a 228/236 Bullet cam and have run the times in the sig.

MaddHatter, you must not do a whole lot of drag racing, because if you did you would know that there is no way you're going to see a 1.3-1.4 60ft in a heavyass camaro with only 3.73 gears and 350 cid no matter what cam you put in it. Now if you put some 4.11's, slicks, and about a 200 shot you may get in the 1.3's.

I was thinking 3.73s, 2800-3200 stall, Slicks/Skinnies but we'll see.
