Chamber size

Anyone ever heard of porting chamber to get around 60cc's? The reason I ask is I am trying to keep CR down without going to a dished piston.

Re: Chamber size

Many popular LT1 head porters bring the chambers out to 57-60cc's to get things unshrouded.....it's pretty common.....you can also go with thicker head gaskets (to a point) to end up with even less compression

Re: Chamber size

About the max. on an LT1 Head is 63-64cc. Mine were at 64cc but since being decked, they're now at 62cc.

Re: Chamber size

Thanks again. After talking with the porter we are going to be looking at 60cc with flat top pistons.

Re: Chamber size

You can get them that big????? Taking almost 10cc out of a chamber is pretty heavy.
