Re: Changing AC Compressor....

take off belt

take out the fan assembly (most important to getting it out)

take out the bolt at the back of the compressor (freon will come out and will be really cold, make sure you retrack your hand when it starts to come out and wait til it is done purging)

unhook the wire at the top of the a/c comp, was PITA for me

take out the 3 bolts at the top, driver, and lower sides

compressor will be free to move, move it forward while rotating the front end up into the engine, once the compressor is near vertical you can slide it out the bottom

reverse procedure to put it back in, I just removed mine as my comp. was shot and I didnt want to spend the money to fix it

Re: Changing AC Compressor....

I didn't have to remove my fans. But it is still a tight fit getting it out.

Re: Changing AC Compressor....

I absolutely could not get it out without taking out the fans out, worked for 7 hrs before I put the thing back together

learned that the fan assembly comes out by just pushing up and sliding out, went at it again, took me 15 mins start to finish
