changing to a LT4 KM?

why do people go with an LT4 knock module sensor? does it help the performance, should i swap mine, its an 94 LT1 w/the usual bolt-ons. about how much do they cost and were can i find them.

after my Lt install the lt4KM helped alot with it not retarding my timing all the time. I have to be in 5th-6th gear and my foot down on the pedel in order for knock retard to even start and even then it's only 1-3 points.

I'd say go for it it won't hurt performance that's for sure.

I get mine from gmpartsdirect.com for around 28 bucks shipped.

it was a 5 min install.

Its only really helpful if you have headers or a noisy valvetrain(things that can cause false knock). The LT4 KM is less likely to pick up false knock than the LT1 KM.

i do have headers installed. what does knock retard mean? what are the symptoms? any help thanks

Just buy the LT4 Knock module...its cheap insurance that your performance isnt suffering because of false knock.

will this effect performance like when im in OD that car vibrates and all but when im in drive it go's away can this be from the KS?

Nope. You have a different computer. The knock receiver circuitry is built into your ecm and it not removable like later years.

Doesn't quite sound like the same scenario that the knock circuitry would have anything to do with.
