Changing plugs after shorty headers. Easier or not?

My LT1 is street driven and stock engined but sees a lot of road circuit use. I am interested in putting on short tube headers and want to know what this will do to the difficulty changing plugs. Right now it takes me 1 hour 40 minutes all from the top.( I have long skinny arms)

BTW any suggestions for brands of headers? For my purposes likely maximising torque is more important than HP.

I know when the manifolds are out it is a good time to do the wires. Do I need different length wires than stock?

Any links to pictures of header install?

Re: Changing plugs after shorty headers. Easier or not?

I'm impressed that you can change them from the top, and in less than 2 hrs. Good job. If you are wanting to do shorties, I would think that the stock routing of the wires would be your best bet. If you can change the plugs in 2hrs now, I wouldn't think you would have many problems with shorties.

Personally I'm going to try to sell you on LT's. I have pictures on my website of LT's with OTVC routing of wires. Click on PassHeadder and DriverHeadder.

I use MAC mid-lengths in my car and have no problems with the plugs in it.

Thanks for the advice re long tubes but my car is lowered significantly for road track use and considering it is street driven there will likely be ground clearance issues. BTW it also has to pass emissions testing. Is this possible with OBD2 and long tubes??

I can change all 8 with my MAC headers in less than 45 minutes...from the top
