Question Checking RRs after install...

Do RRs generally need to be retightened after they are installed? The guy who installed my cam told me they may need to be after 500 miles or so. If they need it I can do it myself but I don't want to go through the trouble for nothing. I've had my cam in for a few weeks now (about 300 miles). I don't believe they have gotten any louder but its hard to tell with my loud exhaust. Is there any other way to tell besides they get louder? Also if they do need adjusted whats the best way?

Thanks

Bryan

In "how to build a sbc for the street" it says: on a car with hydraulic lifters after initally adjusting the rr's, no further adjustment should be necessary, but check them every 20k miles or 24months...
