Checking various engine sensors
I have engine problems and may need to check all of my engine sensors.
Which sensors on our cars can you check manually or with simple tools?
I have engine problems and I cant get the car scanned yet, but I know you can unplug the MAF and it'll run Speed Density. Are there others like this and are others tested on voltage?
Does the unplug thing work on 02's and where do you unplug them?

First a history and description of the problem would help. Also let us know if you have done any mods or repairs that when complete, had an effect on running. Since the engine is in open loop until the temp gets up to around 140, most of the sensors (like O2's) are ignored anyway. So a cold condition can be very different than a warm only condition.
Depending on the problem, we may or may not point you in certain direction. Or we may say go back to basics. Like compression, or leak down, fuel pressure or pressence of spark.
Usually each component can be tested for correct operation but it's not practical to just pull every sensor or sending unit and check it.

Here's my thread on the problem.
I am dropping a LT4 KM in and tightening my exhaust up since it was violently hitting the g-load brace. I think that may be my false knock and is causing the timing to be off.
If this and some basic sensor testing doesnt work I am more than likely taking it over to Jim Pace Pontiac for a check up.
