Cleaning the factory Oil Cooler

I've been reading several threads on the square gaskets, nobody has a part number. Time to get a roll of gasket material and make our own.
If anyone has that PN let us know.

the parts catalog that I have says the seal for a 1995 LT1 with an oil cooler is "bonded to the cooler" but it also has a PN listed for the seal - 14087586 - hope this helps

Over the years I read so many posts regarding this LT1 oil cooler system and related problems, I wonder why GM changed from the oem design on my 1990 454Ss truck where the oil is piped to the bottom of the rad. and back to the block/filter boss. Sure if you get a busted line you loose mucho oil/pressure, but not once have I read a post regarding any problems with this system on the 454SS.com board. Just be certain to replace the lines every decade or so.

Yes it's the #1 on the '95 oil cooler illustration. I'm not sure about the screen getting clogged though. I haven't heard about it. Matter fact, I don't remember there being a screen on the stock adapter when i replaced it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my car is a 1994 Z28 and it def. had the new style aluminum cooler on it. It has been taken off, and i was able to screw my filter right onto the piece under the cooler by just replacing the two long bolts with shorter ones.
