Almost all plugs will do what's called the Corona effect at one point or another. Champion or should I say the parent company, Federal-Mogul, wrote to me explaining the process. It is enhanced by a specific atmospheric condition where the outside of the plug(s) glow like a corona discharge wire inside a photostatic copier.

My point is a person may see this and mistakenly think there is a arc or discharge when it actually isn't. Not disputing what you saw, I'm just throwing that out there so others will know what they may be seeing.

Alrighty, Final verdict... Coil changed, wires changed, plugs changed... 7th cylinder wire was completely blown in half so i have been running a v7 for at least a week lol.. The coil point was super corroded and the coil boot was turning into dust. No more sparking at the coil and she purring like new again.. just need a street test now!

I'm not sure it has had this much power since i bought it... WooHooo! =)

OK so i hear a lot about how crap our ignition systems tend to be but I'm pretty sure that was the stock coil, It still had rivets holding it on and my car has 185k miles... if so i think that's pretty freakin good

Thanks for posting the results. Had the same issue with mine a few months ago and had the same verdict on the number 7 or 5 can't remember exactly.

If you're going to the dealer, you'd be better off going somewhere like Summit and picking up some Taylor's ($50-60) or MSD or something like that. They'd be better wires for less money. If you need something to get you by, just hit up autozone, advance, etc... and get a cheap set for the coil wire.
