Coil went out at high rpm car backfired and will not start

Opti won't take out the coil permanently.
So do we assume you checked spark at least at 4 plugs at the 4 corners of the engine?
If you indeed have spark at ALL the plugs and they are ALL wet. The next thing I would do is a compression check or at least pull a valve cover.

thanks speedy I did check 2 diferent plugs but will go with your sugestion and check corners. is it possible its flooded to a point were sitting won't clear it? I did pull all the plugs on the drivers bank they were a bit wet. I cleaned them with parts cleaner and it seemed no closer to starting

Have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it to make sure you actually have fuel pressure and you're not just spewing fuel into the intake through the regulator? I've had one go bad that acted real similar.
Only other thing that comes close in my experience would be a bad opti. I have had one go out and throw zero codes. Even took the car to a professional shop who had to call in a GM tech to figure out that the opti was bad. They even paid for the tech because they couldn't figure it out.
