Coils failing

Coils failing
what causes a coil to fail ive had 4 fail in a period of 40 000 miles on my 5 th one now.
Car has 102 000 miles but just had a rebuild and cam instaled.
The last time the coil failed i replaced,
-opti-spark
-Ignition control module
-plugs+wires
-coil
thinking one of these were causing coil to go out so soon.
Do you guys have any ideas what would cause this or are the coils just that bad.

Re: Coils failing
The reason I asked is so we don't have to assume anything...and because there are differences in 93-97 LT1's especially as it relates to coils and optisparks. Filling out some info on your signature would help, and ensure you get more replies. As far as "info on the parts you replaced"...your list was fine, but I was referring to brands/place of purchase, etc. Stock GM parts, or aftermarket replacements? All these things can make a significant difference in helping you figure it out...
In any case, what brand of coil are you using? How do you know the coil is the culprit? In general the coils are not usually an issue, and not nearly as frequent as you're going through them. I've seen a number of MSD's fail...but that's just my personal opinion/experience with them.
Perhaps you've got a harness problem (which is fairly common). When you replace the coil, maybe you're disturbing it enough so that it works for awhile. Try wiggling all the related wiring while the car is running.
