cold air intakes

Anybody use one of the cheap eBay cai's with success? Just seems too cheap to work well. They look good but I've never had good luck with cheap stuff.

Re: cold air intakes

Can't find them. And when I do, I'm too late or I would already have one.

Re: cold air intakes

Post the link to the specific ebay CAI that you are looking at. Many of them have cheap plastic tubes, cheap filters, and do not move the filter outside the engine compartment, limiting their value.

And this one. Basically the same just looks like this one gets down in there a little deeper.

Those are not cold air intakes. That is in the engine bay sucking up hot air.

I made one out of 3" pvc and a store bought cone filter. It cost me around $40 and it is outside of the vehicle and it was as noticeable of a difference as my K&N.
