Combo MotorSports Timing Chain

I bought the CM Version of the tru-roller and installed the crank sprocket the other day and noticed that there is a timing dot right above the crank keyway. There is also another dot about 30 degrees counter clockwise from the dot above the keyway. I use this dot correct because if I remember right the crank keyway is not straight up when 1 and 6 are at TDC?
