Comp r lifter, top came out??!! collapsed?
One of my comp r lifters has the top out (the lip that is supposed to keep the piece that keeps the top part in I cannot see at all) and I cannot push it back in... any advice as to how to fix it or just buy a new one?

Wow this isn't the first time, I had the exact same problem, took my cam out to swap in a new one only to find one of my new few hundred mile Comp R' lifter's top came out so I guess the valve wasn't closing all the way, great! pissed me right off, so I got a new lifter from Comp but ever since then I never had the same confidense anymore, I heard running them past 0 lash can lead to that or running them too loose aswell, so I run mine right at 0 lash when the car is warm, hence I adjusted all my valves while the car is up to temp so that in the morning she ends up with some preload but when she warms up she's at 0 lash. Lots of guys don't do this, they adjust their comp R's to 0 lash while engine is cold, but as the engine warms up & the heads expand away from the block the valves are now too loose.

the thing that upsets me is that I had a shop regasket that head because of an oil leak while i was 300 miles from home. When I get the car back (2 months after they did the work) it has a bent pushrod and my mom had picked it up not knowing what a bent pushrod was... well I replaced the pushrod then it still wasnt right I didnt know why that lifter felt like it was collapsed and would never be right at 0 lash it would always feel like it has room to go, then it would go too tight... confused me until now... 318rwhp/332rwtq w/ that problem and a water pump gear torn to **** on this thread http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...=1#post2389183
