Comp R lifters clacking around, have a question
Its a LT1 355 with comp r lifters. The motor has 1500 miles on it. I started to get a ticking noise after doing a full pass 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th shifting at 7k rpms. I have has shifter this high plenty of times. I pulled the pass side valve cover where it was coming from(back of head) and found no loose rockers. I pulled the intake and pulled off the back four rockers. three out of 4 after loosening the locks could be unscrewed by hand. As for the lifters, I found one lifter that would not move at all when i took it out and pushed down on the pluger. The other three would get pushed down a little when pushing on the pluger. My question is, what is the right symptom for a lifter? Should you be able to move it or not at all? The sound in the motor was louder when it was cold and not completly constantex. clack clack ........clack It didnt run any different as well. Any help would be great, thanks.
