coolant smell in cabin
Few weeks ago my low coolant light came on, in the past it was the sensor acting up, and would go off by itself.... and this time too it went off in a couple days, but i did add some coolant just in case and spilled some. So the next few days i began smelling coolant more and more inside and i saw some dripping from under the fill tank. thinking its my spill i didnt do anything. Well 2 weeks now and its still dripping and when i put on heat lots of fumes come out that smell VERY strongly of coolant.. any ideas? also, my heater fuse blows all the time (but this was happening for over a year now)
Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

I didnt see any wetness on the passanger carpet, but that makes sense.... especially since i get the fumes when i put on the heat.... anyone have an estimate of how much this will hit my wallet? Dont want to go in blindly to a mechanic...

it is simply, parts store where i got my heater core was approx. 40.00, get a cheap manual at the store also to run you through it . the only pain in the *** is taking the hoses off from the engine bay by the fire wall.

Yup sounds like your heater core. I bought one from a fellow member for 40.00 shipped brand new. I put in myself, its not that hard. Just have some patience and wiggle it in their and you'll be ok

Re: coolant smell in cabin
yeah, this is a fairly simple project IMO. the heater core sits behind the glove box. once you get to it (by removing a few plastic covers), the only semi-difficult thing to do is get the heater hoses off of the core. which i dont think was really that hard at all. save yourself some money. or if anything, invest the money a shop would charge you into some tools instead.
EDIT: an easy way to get behind the glovebox is to open it, then push in on the sides until the little flaps clear the dash. then it will fall down out of the way.
