coolent leak at the timing cover ?

Ok I was thinking it was the water pump but after getting it up in the air it looks like all the coolent is coming from the timing cover. Is this an easy fix or am I going to have to take it to the shop. Its a 96z a4 w/ 106,000 miles Thanks.

Re: coolent leak at the timing cover ?

There's no way for the coolent to be behinde the timing cover, there's only oil there. The coolent could be leaking from the rear of the water pump and trickling over the cover. Replacing the water pump is an easy fix.
