corvette springs

I was thinkin about getting some 1.6 self aligning rockers and i was talkin to someone who said he just used corvette sprungs locks and retainers.. i was wondering if this is a good idea? sounds like a cheap approach

Far as I know the LT1 Y-body valve springs are the same as the F-body springs. Maybe he meant the LT4 which came on some vettes, these would be good.

I wouldnt even bother with LT4 springs. thats the hole reason my motor blew up, LT4 springs arnt much better than the stock ones, I ended up getting valve float broke a retainer and droped a valve, get a good set of 918s or something that will take more lift and have some more pressure to them.
