could you some help

OK here the story, I just bought a 94 Z28 with 130,000 I had my brother check the fluids before we hit the road for the way home and i didn't think he was dumb enough to open the radiator cap after it was hot but he did.... so after filling it back up we drove on the highway for 30 Min's at 65 mph well OK 80 MPH just feeling her out never drove a z28 with the big motor.anyway everything was good needs a tune up i think but when i got off the exit i got hung up in traffic an the temp gauge just started climbing and i pulled over and at this point it started over flowing out the reservoir so i filled it up again came home put a thermostat in right away used the bleeder valve it seems to be OK "maybe" seemed to have good flow. The other problem is the throttle seems to sick open if i tap the gas its like the peddle has a mind of it own and goes alittle further by itself. ??? i know it can be a good car but I'm pissed. so maybe some help from people who know the motor and the car.thanks for your time Bryan

check to see if your floor mat is causing ur pedal to stick a lil mine does it every once in a while its kinda scary, jack the front of your car up and look up at the front of the rad and see if its got all kinds of chit stuck to it, mine did the same thing and it had cat hair and grass stuck to it like someone ran over a couple cats in the grass lol, the cooling systems on these cars are like right at there limits stock so if one lil thing is not right with them u will get over heating problems

What kind of thermostat did you put in it? The LT1 does not used a "standard" SBC thermostat. The correct one should look like this....

You have to be careful filling up the LT1 cooling system....both bleeders must be open when filling it. I have typed up directions in a thread somewhere....I'd have to search for it. I think directions are on Shoebox's site too.

Something could also be wrong with your pressure cap....to have the coolant reservoir overflowing is not good. Something is jacked up somewhere.

That is so worth the overheating issues
