crank pulley question
Did a motor swap. It was an LT1 M6 camaro and the head gasket blew so we swapped in an LT1 from a buick roadmaster and the LT1 that was in the camaro has a smaller pulley that mounts on the crank and then there is the larger dampner pulley mounted onto that which no belt runs on....Then on the road master it only had the larger dampner pulley. So I need to know how to get the small pulley off the camaro motor so I can get it put on the roadmaster LT1 so everything spins at the correct speed since the smaller pulley is like 2 inches smaller..... And I will of course put the larger one back on the roadmaster LT1 so it will still be balaced and I don't run into any further problems. If anyone knows how to take that off or any tricks it would be much appreciated. thanks!!!

Re: crank pulley question
Sounds like a "sandwich" style U/D pulley has been added, as noted above. Three bolts and the damper comes off the hub. Rust makes it difficult to remove, so a 3-jaw puller may be necessary. From Shoebox:

Re: crank pulley question
yeah I did the research prior to the swap. The car isn't super nice and it's for a friend so we just did the swap to get the car on the road. The performance loss isn't too big of a deal. The alternator pulley is stock so maybe i'll just throw the dampner pulley on without the smaller pulley and just see if the car has power steering at idle and that the alternator is creating adequate charge. If not then i'll just pull the smaller pulley and get it mounted. Thanks for the links and the help guys.
