crank pulley worth it???

I was thinking about picking up a March crank pulley from Summit. Is this mod worth the money or should I invest my $$ somewhere else. Also, do you guys have any part #'s for a shorter belt?

I've never liked the March pulleys (or any stack-on pulley for that matter). Get an ASP pulley instead...they replace the entire dampener on the front of the crank and weigh next to nothing. You won't believe how much faster the engine revs without all that weight on it.

If you go with the ASP, there's a piece of paper in there with a belt number for the shorter belt on it. You can get the belt from Autozone (it's a Goodyear Gatorback).

IMO, spend your money elsewhere. Pulleys don't do much and there is the side effect of possible charging problems.

Does that ASP pulley double as a harmonic balancer? If not I'm pretty sure you still want to run the balancer with it like most other pulleys. Running no balancer at all is a very bad idea.

I had one, but I didn't waste my time putting it on.

Yeah, it was designed to act as a balancer, it's just smaller in diameter and lighter than the stock one.

The dyno graph illustrates well what happened to belt drive systems over time..

the LT1s is pretty efficient, especially since it does not drive the water pump..

I have the vette accesories on my car and just switched to an ATI superdamper.. aluminum and stock diameter, to get rid of the nasty s&p spacer I had to run.. now that made a difference, the engine is more willing to rev.. but most likely you will never notice a sotp difference with a power pulley, up to you of course but look at the cost and see what other mods may net you better gains..
