Crankshaft Postion Sensor

I noticed oil seeping out from around the crankshaft position sensor. Does it have a gasket, or do you have to replace the sensor?

i have the same issue. I had it on the stock motor, and it is still present on my rebuild. I am taking it in tomorrow for this problem. Once its diagnosed, i will let you know what came of it.

I have done everything to the CKP. I fabbed a gasket, still leaked. Changed oring, still leaked. High tacked a gasket on, and thread sealed the mounting bolt. So after all this, i am beginning to suspect something else. Crankshaft, oil pan, maybe something higher than the CKP. I dunno, but i will let you know when i do. Called the dealer last week, they want 70 bucks for a new sensor. Give an update on what you do to cure this....

The sensor is about $35 at Autozone. It's not dripping, just some seepage. Next time I change oil, I'll probably replace it and see what happens.

Anyone else?

You just answered your own question then. there is no gasket, and youll change it on the next oil change. if it works out, let me know.
