Exclamation Dangers of the LT4 KM

Hello. I was wondering if there are any dangers of installing the LT4 Knock Module to our cars?

I doubt it. I haven't heard anything on that. If anything, it would make your ride better.

I have not heard of any. It de-sensitizies the knock sensor. It can be used for many things such as loud exhuast or roller rockers that create false knock. I have never heard of it being damaging becuase it still works, just on a lower scale

Actually www.gmpartsdirect.com only wants $8 to ship an LT4 knock module. I priced them out, and it's actually a little cheaper than Jason Cromer after shipping since he wants a dollar or 2 more, and the same amount to ship it.

No, it doesn't...

First thing I should say is, we're talking about the knock module, not the sensors. You leave the sensors in the motor and just replace the module, which has the software to, theoretically, tell the difference between engine noise and knock.

The LT4 KM isn't less sensitive, it's more accurate. You will be less likely to get false positives, which lead to retard when you don't need it.

What if you desensitize through programming?
Can you still benefit from LT4 KM, and what is
the difference between the two ?

When I asked Ion at www.madz28.com about using the LT4KM with the desensitized PCM, he said that they are supposed to work together. So yes, you still use the LT4KM with the desensitized PCM.

I am.
