Delete EGR/AIR with tune before removing them from the car???
I plan to get a tune very very soon. Mainly because I'm doing another gear swap and I need to recalibrate my speedo. Anyway I want to get the EGR and Air pump deleted through the tune. My question is, I won't be installing my headers for about another month or so. I plan to delete both of those things during that install. Will it hurt anything to leave them connected as normal even though according to the tune their deleted? Atleast for that month or so. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I cant help you but I have a question. I will be getting headers (long tubes) with a true duals set up with no cats and a computer reprogram and was wondering what the advantages to no EGR and AIR are. This will be on a daily driven vehicle.

well since you wont have any cats, you're going to fail emissions anyways. so you might as well take off egr and air to clean up the engine bay a little bit.
p.s. i had both components on my car for about 2 weeks with them removed via computer tuning....no problems!

But the car will have cats for a short time....once a year for tennesse emissions testing. I am gonna have true 2.5 duals put on and right before emissions like a year from now im gonna go back and have him clamp in 2 cheap cats so I can pass. How will this be without AIR and EGR. Im pretty sure what AIR does but not EGR? Thanks

with two new cats even cheapo's you should be ok.
jsut leave air and egr out and disabled, otherwise you have to add that to your headers.
when you get it programed out (I really liked madwolf tuning and FAST getting it done too)
get the egr, air, rear o2s, skipshift (if m6) lower the fan on temp, and make the km less sensitive.
for emmitions if you have to I have heard about something you can add that will help you pass, cant remember what it is.

where in TN do you live? Just curious because I live in Henderson, TN and we don't have any emmissions checks. I know in Memphis they have them. Just making sure the emmissions checks aren't gonna slip up on me...

I do basic reflashes for LT1 guys on here like yourself, who just want the usual things changed (gears, emissions, etc.). PM or email me if you want to know more.
