BTW, I think 96+ is when the screeen is epoxied in, before that it was just a c-clip. [/B]
My 96 screen was only c-clipped in

I had to pry mine out in my '97. Mine idles super smooth, and I have no ill effects that I can determine from removing the screen. Some say it causes problems once you put a new cam in there and that it's a little harder to tune. We'll see.

Mine has been fine without the screen though.

I honestly don't know if it's worth anything because I took mine out when I put in my K&N FIPK. I noticed a big difference with the K&N, but I can't tell you if it's from the combo of taking out the screen and the K&N, or just the K&N that is making the difference.

My milage never went down after the descreen and I record it every time I fill up.

Oh yeah, and none of the aftermarket "performance" MAF's have the screen from the one's that I've seen.

when I first got my car I didn't know much so I bought the granatelli
Should I just go ahead and leave it in there?
Will I have problems come tune time?
Thanks

the granatelli is just as acurate, if not more so, than the stock MAF.
People have made 400+ HP with it, tuning and all. (not me)

Well there ya go speed-demon got some stats on it. I did mine back in 98 with no ill effects. Didn't notice any SOTP power but throttle response seemed to be better. If it shows 3 rwhp, I'd say do it. Don't cost anything. There are a heck of a lot more mods out there that don't do crap.
