Did all 96's come with 2 cat's

Just step up to a set of headers. There's very little HP to be gained by replacing the cats but keeping the stock manifolds. At the manifold flanges it necks down to about 2", and then again at the cat inlets/outlets. I took the time to measure mine when I installed my longtubes.....

Check here http://www.randomtechnology.com/chevrolet.html. Probably not cheap though.

I have a random 2-cat Y. Very expensive @ $630+ (from Speed Inc.), but, It sure did help alot. Stock cats are very restrictive. 2-cats fit very nice under the Rt side seat. But, the cross over from the left side header required some cutting and welding to fit up to the slp shorts. Also did a 3 1/2 cat back custom with a QTP cut_out. (97SS 383 - D1)

I guess I paid to much (alum coated). I purchased it quit some time ago (4 years), and it still works. It sure made a difference with the D1. That's a great price. Also, be aware that your 3" cat-back may be short due to the Random Y being a little shorter in length.

I had gotten my cats from www.dezod.com just 2 months ago with shipping around $575 if I recall. They where super good with response time and such.
Yeah this is my restoration to working order project. Seems to be needing MUCH more than just this Y as it looks now.
