Different intakes?

Different intakes?
I have 2 LT1 intakes. One has a "1" stamped on the back, the other has a "2". They came from different year cars and I want to polish one. I just don't want to polish the wrong one if they are different. I have not inspected them well but I hear the earlier intakes were slightly different. Is there something I should look for to ensure I polish an intake im going to want to use?

Re: Different intakes?
There are a couple different LT1 intake port verisons.....they are really easy to identify....one has nice large almost perfectly rectangle ports(looking where they mate to the head), and the other (like the LT4 intake) has slightly uneven smaller tapered port walls(there's also about a pound weight difference between them).....after full porting all the LT1's end up about the same, but if your going to leave them stock, I would try to use the one with the larger rectangle ports if you have that kind

Re: Different intakes?
93 is quite a bit different than the other years, lacking the fuel rail cross-over pipe slot. That difference would be obvious.
At some point, the 94-97 intakes were modified slightly, putting "slots" in for a couple of the bolt holes, probably to make it easier for the assembly line.
