So quick update...did add a bottle of Water Wetter and did see the temp gauge show a little cooler...my guess 5 to 8 deg cooler. I know it's not accurate because I didn't scan the car, but I'm pretty sure it's cooler as shown on the gauge.

So you know, last Wed/Thursday here in San Jose, we were hitting 99 degrees...my car was just bitchin' about it. It runs fine and has power...it just doesn't feel happy. LT1s run hot in general, but when it's almost 100 degrees outside, it doesn't help the car cool at all. My 160tstat and reprogrammed fans did their job...they just had to do it too often.

This week is at a "86" degrees...

It's not uncommon for us to get 85 degrees at 8-9am - in the deep of
the summer, we pretty much hover around 100*.

Found this:
As part of its testing, Royal Purple performed dyno runs checking
engine temperatures to see how different mixtures of coolant
performed. Here are the numbers they provided us:

* 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze: 228 degrees F
* 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze with Purple Ice
added: 222 degrees F
* Water only: 220 degrees F
* Water with Purple Ice added: 200 degrees F

I used one of the "racing coolants" before last summer, which worked
out really great - i was seeing anywhere from 10-20* cooler than
with "standard" antifreeze. I remember, on the bottle, is said to drain
the cooling system completely and to use ONLY water and the super
coolant - it's more effective that way than adding it to water/antifreeze.
If I remember correctly, it was an 8oz bottle of the stuff.
