is this a doable type of exaust, or I am dreaming?

is this a doable type of exaust, or I am dreaming?
I want to make a true 3" dual exaust. That's how I am planning on doing it: 3" pipes will go from hooker LT's; then they will come to my own made X pipe and spread out to two muffler (still 3"). Each muffler will have two 2.5" pipes out that will go over my rear axle. So I will have total of four 2.5" outlets.
I have couple questions: What's the best kind of mufflers to use for this type of exaust: single 3" in, dual 2.5" out. I want my mufflers to be not too loud, I think cc306 and hookers will make my car loud enough.
Has anybody made their own x pipe, any advices? I am not going to pay $210 for Dr. Gas x pipe. All it is just two pipes welded together. I taking a welding class right now, and my instructor is all into helping.
I am thinking on assembling everything together and leaving the exaust 2 foot short from my hooker LT's. Then I would mount my exaust on, and do couple measurements to come up with 2 short pipes that would connect headers with exaust. Does this sequence sounds reasonable, or I should try to make it snug fit before I mounting it.
If anyone has done a similar thing, can you post some pictures and give me some dimentional specifications. Maybe a PRO/E, AUTOCAD drawing (probably asking for too much).
Thanks for all respones

Good luck finding that much SPACE under the car.... I've seen a few 2.5" dual systems, and they dump before the axle....
If you do it, I wanna see pics
