Does anyone have Cooper Cobras

I have 4 Cooper Cobras on my car, I love 'em. Does anyone else have these or heard of these on our cars. I mean they're Z rated have great traction, wet/dry. They cost about $130 a piece. Just feeling a little left out. Thanks guys.

They came on my car when I bought it.

I absolutely hated them. My sig here used to read "Cooper Slowbras".

Just my .02

I have them on my car right now, soon to be replaced with nitto nt 450s upfront and 555rs in the back. I hate these tires to say the least. The traction is OK when its really warm out, but when its cool traction is horrible. Wet traction sucks too. Cant even get going on the onramps on wet roads. Best 60ft. I could cut with them was a 2.0 Oh well..just my 2 cents.

so whats the word, are they crap. I mean they came on our cars so i just stuck with them. When I get better rims I plan on getting some michelin's pilots or something really nice. I think that they're great. lincmarkv What didn't you likt about them?

Well, they didn't really do anything for me. They probably gripped better in the cold than my Kumhos do now but that doesn't say much.

Their lateral grip was abysmal, and I didn't think straight line grip was that great either. I could smoke them on the shift into second, both sets of tires since then (Yok AVS-i 245s, Kumho Ecsta MX 275s) only chirp in second. And it's not the car's fault

Suffice to say, for the price, there are much better tires. Much.

Dan

[EDIT] As far as I know, they didn't come stock. I bought my car used with them, and they looked brand new when I got the car - the dealer must've gone "slap some tires on it" or something. [/EDIT]

well that all depends on how many miles you have on them I'm sure. Mine are almost brand new. I really can't complain about them. They just kept me unstuck for one of the worst winters in Arlington, VA in awhile. You're in philadelphia, right? How much did you pay for the Kumho's and are you running them on your stock rims?

There are many different tires, named Cooper Cobra.

I used to have XST's and they were ok for the money. I think their W rated ZHP01 tires should be even better.

For the money they are worthless, You can get a nice Goodyear for that much. I have had every tire under the sun and Coopers are one brand I won't purchase again. Budget V and Z rated tires are about as good as a touring Goodyear. That and the fact that I don't ewant the word Cobra associated with my Firebird!

o sorry, they're cobra zhp 01's as far as the cobra name you got me there I can't argue that it kinda sucks to have cobra on the side of a z28 wheel, but i actually never thought of that till now. Anyway, when these wear out, I'm gonna get some new tires and rims, but I may just stick with these, I mean I really like them and no problems, thanks for all the info.

I know a guy who had them on his thirdgen w/ zz4 crate...they were pretty much liquid rubber. Wherever he went if he went 3/4 throttle he'd leave a patch..mind you he wasn't trying to leave a patch, but he wasn't not trying either, if ya get what i mean.

True - I'm sorry I don't remember which Cobras I had. Frankly, I wasn't that interested in them.

The Kumho's cost me $153/tire and I have them on stock SS 17x9 rims (not original, but you could consider them "not aftermarket" either).

My car came with some Cooper Cobras too. Traction was horrible, even at stock power levels! Since then I've bought 3 sets of Firehawks ... they totally kick ***! wet, dry, straight, corner, treadwear ....
