I went with Taylor OTVC wires and Ac delco plugs, bam pulled like a freight train again. Thing is all of those wires appeared fine and showed normal resistence with a multi meter.
It did it with the Taylor wires and the MSD wires so I doubt that is the problem. Also had spark plugs changed twice.

Was harmonic balancer checked?

As you may have read in a chevy mag , they had an LT1 with a missfire that they dramatically changed out with aftermarket ignition bits also. They even went with an eight coil conversion and still kept the missfire. Ultimately, a marginally loose (or cocked) balancer with some stripped threads somehow caused their cronic missfire. Once the balancer was properly secured with new bolts , the missfire disappeared. There was no explanation given as to how this could and did cause a perenial missfire. Maybe pulling yours for a check is worth the effort.

+1

as stupid as i felt paying $100 bux to find out my rough idle/not wanting to start after it sat/failing emissions turned out to be a hole in the intake elbow.... i had a new one on there in a few days and spent $236 total for the diag, the new aluminum hose, and a front main seal.... i can only imagine how much i would have spent just throwing parts.... i had thought it was the fuel pump myself....

It's too bad it wasn't put on an oscilloscope to see if the miss was ignition related...
