I was cut a 1.917 60' with 3.23's and street tires and I wasn't even close to launching it as hard as I could and I don't have an aftermarket convertor, I can only stall it up to ~1300.

I think just like the LS1 cars , some run a bit better than others . My 95 convertible Trans Am ( A4 , 3.23 ) when it was showroom stock went 14.08@100 . Added a mac muffler to the stock I-pipe and a K&N Fipk with some drag radials and went 13.20's .

Re: Don't believe in factory freaks?

I think mine might be a factory freak. It is a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am automatic. It has 95,000 miles on the odometer now and is loaded. It has every option except for the power passenger side seat and the in dash cd player, but it does have the 12 disc changer. So, obviously it is a heavy one. Here are my times:

60' 2.085 1/4 13.146 @ 104.48
SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust System, SLP High Flow Air Box Lid
--Removed Spare Tire, Removed Jack

60' 1.998 1/4 13.078 @ 107.16
SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust System, SLP High Flow Air Box Lid, Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials
--Removed Spare Tire, Removed Jack

60' 2.017 1/4 13.010 @ 107.67
SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust System, SLP High Flow Air Box Lid, Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials, Free Ram Air Modification
--Removed Spare Tire, Removed Jack

60' 1.947 1/4 12.839 @ 108.99
SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust System, SLP High Flow Air Box Lid, Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials, Free Ram Air Modification
--Removed Spare Tire, Removed Jack, Removed Passenger Seat, Removed Rear Seats

60' 2.017 1/4 13.032 @ 108.45
SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust System, SLP High Flow Air Box Lid, Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials, Free Ram Air Modification, Descreened Mass Air Flow Sensor, Pacesetter Long Tube Headers, Pacesetter Off-Road Y-Pipe
--Removed Spare Tire, Removed Jack

I am going to get a stock Mass Air Flow Sensor and keep it screened soon, I hope that will help. Although I have not bettered my times since than, my mile per hour did go up to a 109.59. I am almost to 110 baby! I am hoping I can pull a 12.6x @ 110.xx with what I have. I plan on a LS6 Intake Manifold, Ported Throttle Body 3.73 Gears, Torque Converter, Cam Package, and get Dyno Tuned within the next year and drop to the low 12's if not high 11's. I will also need new drag radials too, but don't know what I will go for, only time will tell. I really want to STS Turbo my car as well within the next year or two. Factory freak?

Re: Don't believe in factory freaks?

Looks good, the DA for Saturday was from 250 to 500. My stock car ran very well too for 127k miles. 13.5s consistantly at 103ish, we did make 2 passes in the 104 range. Not sure on weight, scales were not open.

And i was just looking for low 14s.....

Re: Don't believe in factory freaks?

I was just looking for a mid to high 13 on my very first pass and it came out to be a 13.146 @ 104.48, I think a lot of my friends were shocked, I know I was.

I know "Lightweight" on the SCFYB forum. Was deployed with him over there in Charleston early last year. Hung out with some of the members one day, was a good time.

I was parked in the grass behind the stands. One of the gazillian Silver Z's with an SS hood and chrome SS wheels, hard to stick out looking like the rest. I need something to make the car different!! I'll figure it out.

60's were in the 2.0 range to 2.2....street tires. Mods are Aerochamber in the stock location, MadZ28 OBDI Conversion, !ks, !front bumper support, hurst shifter and later in the day we put on a CAI and Trick Flow Elbow, which I might add did not seem to help but it started getting much hotter out than the first 2 runs....
