Double Roller= Crank sensor delete?????

Can anyone confirm this??

I just ordered a Cloyes double roller set,(for mb 97) and was told that with a DR the Crank sensor has to be removed and taken out of the Ting cover. Is this true at all???? I've never heard of anything like that before, the CRank sensor is just a flat little plate, how could this make any diff????

The double roller will move the CPS out way too far to even put it on..The extra chain actually takes the place of the CPS on a double roller..

that chain is actually so big that youll likely end up taking off a few thousandths inside the TC so it wont rub. i had to.

i am sorry but i have never herd of anyone taking the sensor off, but i also have the stock timing chain, i will go 11's with the stock one no need to upgrade to a roller one, i recommend getting the obd1 conversion.

With the DR you may have to remove the reluctor ring for the sensor, because it will rub.
I have the DR and didn't remove the ring. Nick @ Nu-tek was kind enough to fabricate a spacer and modify the ring to work, and it's working fine.
You can also have it programmed to delete the sensor to get rid of SRS, or you can go with an OBD1 conversion whichever fit better.
Another option would be to use regular LT4 or extreme duty LT4 timing sets.

yes OBD2 cars 96-97 will have to delete the CPS and reprogram the pcm, grind on the timing cover with a dremel for a couple of hours, convert to an electric water pump and remove the water pump gear drive from the block, and plug the hole in the timing cover. i had to cut the CPS sensor in half to make it clear the timing set.

and the most important thing: you HAVE TO HAVE a 94-95 HUB, because by removing the CPS reluctor the stock hub will now rub the optispark, the 94-95 hub is just a tad longer, to make it line up, www.thunderracing.com has a keyed version.

I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE 94-95 HUB UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE.
shoebox helped me on this one.
hope this helps you
