drop in rpms and bog at 2200 rpms
Just like the title says, I occasionally get a sputter or miss at idle or at any speed. At idle the car will barely recover or stall. While driving it will buck and drop about 500rpms. Also, on occasion my firebird will bog at 2000 rpms while in gear and will not allow me above 2000rpms. This doesn't happen often, but it really sucks when it does. I get an ses light when it happens... 36
ObdI, which is an ignition code. I have a new opti, wires, plugs, icm, and coil. I also replaced fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, the ect sensor, the map harness, and the iac harness, as well as cleaned out the iac and map. Any ideas???

DTC 36 indicates you have a problem with the high resolution pulse signal from the optical cam position sensor in the Optispark distributor. Could be a problem with the sensor, could be a problem with the harness. Pull the short Opti harness connectors on both ends, and look for corrosion or damaged pins.
What brand is you new Opti?

already have cleaned out the harness and tested the resistance of all of the wires... does not seem to be the issue. I know everyone recommends going with the delco opti but just didn't have the $ at the time that I replaced it. I bought the opti through summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-850059/.
Again this problem on occurs once in a while, the rest of the time the car drives perfect. Could this possibly be a tps issue, a low battery voltage issue, or a MAP sensor issue? Or is code 36 pretty much always an opti issue?

DTC 36 is for the loss of high res pulse from the Opti - EXACTLY as a wrote it above. The diagnostic involves the PCM counting the high res pulses in between the low res pulses. If the count isn't right, the high res signal isn't right. There is no other possible cause.

An aftermarket shifter is a great affitionand a good first step. I'm not a fan ofthe ripper shifter and even took one off a C5 because of the feel. The pro 5.0 is a good one as is the hurst....
