dropped the motor today, pics

ok so i finally dove in and dropped the motor out the bottom today. i just dont get why people are putting the car so high in the air. i used one jack stand on each side, and the were not fully extended, about half...
i did take the wheels off, simply to gain another 6-8 inchs of clearance, put the floor jack under the k member, pulled the bolts and let her down, then got the jack out from under it so it would lay flat on the floor. then i did used one of my own ideas and took it out the side. my space in front of the car was limited, so i figured i might as well try it. and it actually worked great! it took only 2 guys to slide this thing around, and i thought it went very smothly. now its time to start cutting wires, and cleaning up the bay, and saving lots of money

i plan on a full umi suspention, so i really dont care what happens to the stock stuff at this point, might be harder if your trying to keep things nice. but no not really, i thought it was pretty easy actually. height was my main concern, and i didnt have to go very high in the end

It just has to be high enough for the top of the engine to clear the lower part of the radiator mount.

yeah thats what i thought, but 2 more clicks on my jack stands and it would have cleared that too, like i said i just didnt have the room in my garage without opening the door to do it like that, and i didnt wanna let all the heat out. but like i said, i did it all with one set of jacks, and no blocks what so ever, thats why i think its odd to see all the pics of everyones cars with a foot of blocking under their stands...
