Dyno day

This was a long day.
Day started about 8:30am and finished about 3pm and we are still puzzled on my car. We were in the process of converting over from MAF setup to Speed Density. So far the car has picked up 13hp from this move but we are still having problems with it running rich. If fact it has always run rich, even with the MAF setup.

A little background, the car has always blown black smoke going down the track and on the dyno, enough you can tell its running rich. Even the plugs shown it's running rich. We attempt to remove the fuel and the power really drops down on it. We add the fuel back and the power comes back. Just to strange, fuel pressure looks good also.

So the next move is this, take the 30lb SVO injectors and have them flow tested to make sure all of them are in balance. Replace the plugs, O2's and coil to make sure everything is up to par. The car does not miss at all so I don't think the OPTI is going bad.

With the converter unlocked we are upto 386 with it, I know once we get the richness taking out of it, it will pickup even more.

I am sure it will get better with a lil more tuning. Still good #'s even though you are expecting (and will get) more.

The car is still "MUCH FAST".

Wish I had a lil tuning knowledge to help you out but I am sure you have done all of the obvious stuff along time ago.

good luck.

Thumbs up Nice #'s

Nice realistic numbers you are putting down!

Quick ? At what RPM did you pull that number and where is your rev limiter set?

I just pulled 365 at 6000 RPM. I could not get past 6000 as it was starting to break up. Still trying to figure out what is causing the ignition breakup

I adjusted my AF from a lean 14.5 to a nice 12.3-12.5. Went from 331 rwhp to 365 rwhp I have not played with the timing or other parametersng. I think I can get more out of it with fixing the ignition issue, adjusting other parameters and being able to run it up to 6500 RPM. My rev limiter is set at 6750.
