It's not going to pull any higher with stock heads. But, the numbers he is making are less than the numbers I made with a hotcam. It should make more hp and tq than that. Period. I think that you need to get the a/f ratio checked out. Then go from there. And, when talking about the rockers being too tight, their not talking about the torque specs, their talking about tightening them to zero lash. Just spin the pushrod and tighten the rocker until the push rod starts to grab. Then go 1/4 to 1/2 turn more and lock them. Get back to the dyno.
Right Im talking about valve lash. Without the locks I dont think youll be able to set them this way without the nut backing off.. you really need poly locks!!

Also, zero lash is actually when the pushrod has no up/down slack... not the point you feel tension spinning it.

But, that is the easiest way to do it and do it correctly. I know that is not the definition of zero lash, but that is how you adjust the rockers.

Re: Dyno results

no cats, full exhaust with a cutout and long tubed headers!

i have lock nuts, but not poly lock nuts. These nuts are really hard to tighten because of the type of nut it is.

So it wont back off.

CAI with KN of course, stock intake and TB..

my trq should be was over my hp. We will see what happens after i lock converter and figure out this new code my car is throwing!

Re: Dyno results

I made 346 hp 338 tq with the 306 cam on stock heads, intake, tb through cats and a M6. It peaked at 6200 rpms and the tuning needed work above 5500 rpms. Yes an A4 will dyno less but not that much.

Re: Dyno results

What kind of dyno was it? Mustang? Dynojet?

Re: Dyno results

dont think it was a msutang dyno cause i asked him and he said no..

But the shop was a msutang shop, had nothing but Stangs in there..

and what is the point with a mustang dyno vs a dynojet?

I know Mustang runs lower but why?

Re: Dyno results

Mustang dynos give a number which is more technically accurate in the real world. I am not very familiar with the details.

This is from mustangdyne.com:
Mustang Dynamometers are unique. All Mustang Dynamometers are loading dynamometers designed to duplicate real world operating conditions. Our patented control system uses eddy current power absorbers to load a vehicle exactly the way it would be loaded on the street -- including wind resistance, which is a significant factor in high-speed testing. Mustang dynos also feature a load cell to measure the power being applied to the rolls. Without going into a lot of theory, a Mustang dyno gives you a real world tune, every time.
If you wanted to use the numbers from the dyno and apply all of the necessary physics formulas to plot your car's acceleration mathematically, the numbers from a Mustang dyno would give you more accurate results than those from any other dyno.

If all you want to do is compare your numbers to your buddies, it doesn't matter what dyno it is, as long as everyone uses the same kind.

If all you want to do is have a number to brag about, don't use a Mustang dyno.

If you want to compare power before and after mods, it still doesn't matter, as long as you use the same one before and after.

Re: Dyno results

ok. Well it was a inground one, but i dont think that would matter. Was also using CATS program.

Well ill have the wideband hooked up sat. also did replace my knock sensor which could be a problem and ill have him lock the converter.

Re: Dyno results

Don't lock the converter to get the numbers that you want. You should be at your goal of 330-340 rwhp w/out locking the converter.
